Whip Coral Gobies

Bryaniops yongei

Kona, Hawaii, 2000

This is a mated pair of gobies, which commonly inhabit whip corals here in Hawaii. The white spots on the end of the coral are eggs deposited by the fish.

Also just to the left of the fish is a tiny shrimp, difficult to see on this low-rez web image.
