These
small anemones grow in colonies in a kaleidoscope of brilliant color.
They are not true anemones, but rather corallimorpharians, a "missing
link" between true anemones and corals. These colonies were found
competing for space with each other on the shaded underside of this shipwreck's
hull. The whole underside of the ship has a colorful quilt-like appearance.
A related species of this exists thousands of miles away in Monterey Bay,
California. They look identical and are in the same Genus.
