This sub-adult Green Sea Turtle surprised me as it came up over a coral ridge. Luckily my camera was already set for the proper exposure, and I grabbed this image before it turned right and headed out to deeper water. This species is considered common here in Hawaii, but has endangered status in other parts of the world. All sea turtles are protected. Unfortunately, some of our visitors are unaware, or choose to ignore the posted warning signs.
