This cave
is accessed from the open ocean by an underwater passageway. At the
back of the cave is a chamber with a skylight. The name "Kustom
Cave" was given by the islanders due to its ritual use. Offerings
to the gods are dropped into the cave through the skylight. When I entered
the cave and saw the dancing beams of light, I new immediately what
shot I wanted to make. I also knew it would be impossible to calculate
a proper exposure, due to the wide contrast range of light. So I simply
shot about 15 images, changing the exposure slightly between each shot,
assuring me of at least one great image.
