Snorkeling with Mastigigas jellyish (MR)

Jellyfish Lake, Palau, 2001

Imagine swimming with a million jellyfish in a lake surrounded by steep jungle cliffs. Thats the world-famous "Jellyfish Lake".

The jellyfish in this isolated lake have evolved without any need for stinging cells, and contain symbiotic algae which they rely on for nourishment. The jellies pulse their way around, concentrating in the sunlit areas of the lake.
