Scuba diver along "New Dropoff Wall", Palau, 1999

S

The undersea currents & upwellings provide tremendous amounts of food for the invertebrate life clinging to the walls off Palau's many islands. This "eye candy" is one of several features that attract divers from all over the globe. The same currents and upwellings bring plankton up for huge schools of fish, and these fish in turn attract big predators. The entire food chain is often visible on a single dive here.
